The 2018 NiRA Awards
The 2018 edition of NiRA Awards is slated to hold in Lagos Nigeria on Friday 27th April, 2018. The award which is in its third edition is the brainchild of the Nigerian Internet Registration Association (NiRA); who are the registrars of the .ng domain.
The 2018 .ng Awards according to the press release from NiRA, aims at promoting and commending the excellent achievements of members, stakeholders and the general public, who contribute towards building a sustainable economy using technology, uplift the image of .ng locally and internationally and stimulating the development of local content on the Internet space.
Via the .ng Awards, NIRA celebrates over the numerous milestones, achievements and innovations of Nigerian Internet initiatives. It acknowledges companies and individuals who contribute to the growth of the .ng domain name registration and support of the DNS Industry.
The nominations for the .ng Awards has since commenced on Friday, 16th March, 2018 and it is proposed to end on the midnight of Friday 30th March, 2018.

Individuals and corporate organizations that meet the award criteria are qualified to be nominated and nominees are expected to operate an active website with an .ng domain name, registered not less than six months from the date of the award.
All nominations for eligibility will be reviewed by the awards committee who will afterwards short-list the final nominees. The list of the shortlisted nominees will be available for public voting on the NIRA website.
Voting starts on Friday, 6th April, 2018 and stops at midnight on Saturday, 21st April, 2018.
The Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NIRA) is the registrar for the .ng domain name and manages the record of domain names registered in the .ng country code Top Level Domain (ccTLD) name space in the interest of Nigerians and the global Internet community. The .ng domain string is an important national resource and Nigeria’s sole identity on the World Wide Web.
